Mark Williams

Mark graduated from San Jose State University. He has extensive experience with closely held businesses including partnerships, LLCs, S corporations, and corporations. Mark works closely with executives, employees, and high net worth individuals with respect to income tax and financial planning, including assessing the impact of founders’ stock, stock options, alternative minimum tax to minimize the tax burden on business and personal income tax returns.
Justin Williams
Partner, CPA.
After graduating from BYU Justin received his master's degree from San Jose State University in 2007. He spent four years at Deloitte Tax, LLP in San Jose working in the venture capital and corporate practices before joining the Ruzzo, Scholl, & Murphy team in 2011. He brings his background to help clients navigate complex tax matters with practical, forward-thinking solutions. Justin speaks fluent Spanish and enjoys traveling, being outdoors and spending time with his wife and four sons.
Chris Faria
Partner, CPA.
After graduating from San Jose State University with a master's degree in accounting, Chris joined with the firm in 2012. Chris prides himself on having good relationships with his clients and making himself available to them for advice throughout the year. In his spare time Chris enjoys playing sports (and once bowled a perfect 300 game), spending time with his family, and being a father.
Derek Gurtler
Manager.
Derek graduated from Chico State University in 2002 and began working at Ruzzo, Scholl, & Murphy in 2006. He enjoys working closely with his clients and giving them sound accounting and business advice. He works hard on making the client feel comfortable and enjoys the one on one relationship with them. Derek loves watching all bay area sports and Nascar, as well as playing golf. Derek also loves spending family time with his wife and three boys.
